Forging is a kind of technique that uses the forging machine to exert pressure on the metal blank and make it cause plastic deformation so as to obtain forgings with certain mechanical properties, certain shape and size. Forging can eliminate the defects in the smelting process such as loose as-cast condition, and optimize the microstructure. At the same time, the mechanical properties of forgings are generally better than castings of the same material due to preserving complete metal streamline.
